Once again, this is my best attempt at transcribing and sharing the essence of Sifu’s teachings from my handwritten class notes.

Sage of Absurdity, Lao Tzu, asked of him, where my faults lie? Message, take the low seat, let others go before us. Seek to be nothing. Are we even truly  free? At what moment are we truly free? Shaped by society and in mother’s womb. We think we’re special, There’s nothing new under the sun. Whatever freaks and hope we have, set them aside.

“They lost focus” (?) Have a disciplined mind. Like the Master said “May this day be one of absurdity.” See what unfolds. Let go of hope and fear…(?) attachment, aversion

If you have and experience of dim, fogged, clouded mind, ask, “who is having this experience?” The space hasn’t changed (or ? focus) on the space. Instead of on the fog.

Laugh because we live in an insane world. Be in sanity. Jump inside the sanity.

Master Sifu Chow called Sifu, sends good wishes. Happy, blessed New Year. He’s grappling. (His message) Keep moving, keep training. Rubbing, the blood and Qi are (associated (?) together. The healing Qi comes to the point, oxygenated blood goes to the point. Sifu adds don’t worry too much. Master Chow says in the character for Qi, is rice. In Chinese medicine, it is a symbol for energy. Balance your carbohydrates to maintain vitality and longevity.

Tulku Rinpoche (?) At best you have 100 years. May you be blessed with happiness, prosperity.

Never stop training, with and open heart and disciplined mind. Go through the day to ask yourself, “Why am I doing that?”

Elevate. Sifu watched a man and a woman. She put her arm into his, hands clasped and crossed (the street). And elevated moment.

Master Sifu Chow conversation Our hips are out from side kicks. When done improperly, it deteriorates, the hip joint. Pay attention to grounded, alignment, placement, awareness, consciousness, and presence.

External and Internal Internal takes more time, will exceed the external school. There’s a flow, energetic feel it arrives as a result of continued training. Do what you’re doing while you’re doing it without effort, relaxed.

1970 When Sifu became Master Sifu’s disciple. It is important to keep contact with our teachers.

Metaforming How to combine all the systems we’ve studied? Is there anything more than this, a moment of awaking like a firefly and the (CLAPS) light goes out.

We create gravity around it. When training we become very aware of space, like animal can—expansive awareness vs. concentrated/concentration.

How do we integrate our practice into our everydayness? Do what you’r doing while you’re doing it.

Experiment Focus, banana/elephant. Don’t focus on one, can only focus on one at a time. Don’t think and can be there. When thinking about it, don’t drop the pencil/drop the pencil, wu wei way.

Moments of anxiety, recognize it, then “Wow! I’m feeling it!” ID it. Practice being at ease.

Sifu mentions a Tubi TV series that has Sifu Chow and Chum Kiu. Let know if anyone finds it! Side kick changed, make sure you have good alignment and placement, how our body ages changes what we can and can’t do.

1 cubit (the distance from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger) of energy, heat, (spreading ?) after tumo (practice).

Squint look through the darkness, thin the eye, see though the opponent. “I look at you, I see you but you don’t see me seeing you.”
