Sifu Jerry Gardner

Sifu Jerry Gardner

Sitting, breath in, out expand without grasping. Rest.

Jon’s question gave a teaching—are you doing Kung Fu or is Kung Fu doing you? Are you grasping at the reflection of moon at night? Holding on, have messed the mark.

The best technique is no technique. Have no attachment. Have no need to make use of what your’ve trained for so many years. In the end nothing (stays?)

Breathe in and breathing out.

Happy New Year!

How to approach this year and what has passed?

Be like the Mountain resting and like the snow resting, melting and nourish(ing?). Be like the snow. Air is crisp, cool, clear, let mind be like this.

Be gentle this year, starting with ourself. (Too often?) We can be (soft) with others but rough with ourselves.

Thích Nhất Hạnh, a cloud never dies, they come and go, gentle, floating by, gently go through journey of life.

Clouds exist in space, permeated by light. Do that this year. Be aware of the inner shifting changes. Clouds dissolve into the space from which it originates. Space to form again, a cloud never dies. Ever changing, be like the cloud.

Make offering to the east, north, south, west and earth. A sense of ritual to connect to self and to others.

I Ching 36 darkening of the light in adversity, persevere, engage in (Third Form (biu jee) ?) of persevere in peace, harmony, and joy. Maintain your inner light. Be flexible. In some cases a person must hide their light. Stillness. Perseverance (?) must be heard in thinner most consciousness. Let it be a mystery, what you will do . The deception has a purpose to be of benefit.

Year of the Bunny Rabbit. Connect to inner nature of light.

Blue Toad drawing

Blue Toad Clan

Red Lotus Clan is connected to the Blue Toad Clan (and to) Amitābha—Buddha of Boundless Light—Mearly think of me and you are there. The radiant light of your consciousness permeates space. Make no effort. Wu Wei way, do without doing.

We’re training so “I don’t cut you” because there is a part of us that says “I will cut you.”

Sifu mentions the movie How to Tame Your Dragon

Jon’s question inspired—training your mind, sharpen something? Sharpen your mind. Can you transform? What transformation will I make today? I will recognize my light today. Sit in stillness like a mountain, calm and clear. Rest.

Watch your patterns throughout the day. The double knives have multiple uses. Cutting vegetable. Pay attention, but not too tight. Develop technique, ultimately there is no technique.

Light, moisture and air, this is the Qi. Feel it, a sense of integration that we’re a part of it. The opponent is looking for two. The eyes are connected to the light. The celestial realm of the immortals in the Taoist tradition. The mind is the intermediary between the physical and the metaphysical. The light moves the (air and is the vehicle?).

Spirit Breath and Qi are connected. Qi permeates the body.

Taoist Alchemical Way Accumulate Qi in the bones. Through (breath?) of accumulation of the (elements?) to strengthen the bones.

Rise up  Training in the face of adversity, in the face of challenges. Whatever your situation happens to be. the light within. Cut through and be at peace. Find humor. Bunny rabbit playing in water this year. Whenever the monks and nuns went, they brought joy and happiness. Need to know with wisdom when to interview and help others.

We’re all creating, meta forming, art and science together. Recognizing patterns.

For Master Xi Creat from a place of in sanity—to be in sanity.

Sifu Chow Kicking should be like punching; punching should be link snapping your fingers.

Documentary about street basketball. See the Kung Fu in their movements, rhythm.

Master Chan Once you understand (you?) understand the source of movement.

Think about how you use your voice. How does the movement impact (?), how we articulate.
