Hello Sifu and Kung Fu Sisters and Brothers!
I’m including some people who did not opt in to the email list the first time. I’ll do this one more time to make sure anyone who wants the emails will be included.
On to the notes!
Sitting in space, experience South, North, West, and East, the diagonals, up to space and gradating down to the physical level. Establish the 10 directions of space/time yourself.
Honor our ancestors: clap 2xs, bow, clap 1x bow
Be still—breathe in, breath out. Allow perceptions to arise, let them come. Whatever arises, dwells and ceases—apparitions, let them arise without clinging. They have arisen from stillness so we leave them alone.
Are we embracing our inner revelations?
Longchenpa—Resting comfortably and at ease. This is how we sit still. Then activity will ensue. Longchenpa says, let go and let vbe. Rest in comfort and ease. Be still like a mountain. Be silent, not to speak, no mantras, no prayers.
Let your mind be like a cloud (cloudless sky?) in the sky, this takes us back to comfort and ease. Imagine sitting down after a long day of work, sitting and audibly sighing. Non-clinging.
We are the relative space, and so we must speak in convoluted ways.
Kung Fu is a process of evolutions. If I have a conflict, I created it. How do I balance the energetic fields around me? Ask for blessings of peace, comfort, and joy. Is it as simple as kindness—to develop loving kindness, joyousness, and compassion?
Our practice: Be still, be kind.
Ronald Taganashi was mentioned by Sifu around this point in the lesson.
A heavy object creates a gravitational field of kindness.
Can we take part in the evolution of consciousness that permeates the universes?
Don’t take any of this too serious, but engage seriously.
Any experiences, let them form. If you start creating a concept during your meditation of what we’re talking about, that is the opposite of our goal. When meditational experiences arise, let them go—non-clinging. Either clinging or non-clinging, let go.
Thoughts of Sifu bak in the dojo 30-40 years ago: The art of changing energy patterns of the opponent, can we affect the space/time reality. He wanted to learn that martial art.
Be aware of conscious connections between yourself and your partner, pet, colleague.
Chi sau—antennae—feel the disturbance in the space—from Master Sifu Chow?
1, 2, 3 vessels, regulators (dantiens), intuitive, feeling, thinking—deep feeling.
“What did you do for your art today?” Étienne Decroux, (He is one of Marcel Marceu’s teachers, also known as the creator of Corporal Mime. Sifu studied with two of his American students, Daniel Stein and Peter Kettler.)
What is beyond, hidden?
Sifu likes to stud structure and patterns.
Bruce Lee was a philosopher. Speaking to his master, he asked who to defend against an opponent? His master ultimately replies, “I can only defeat myself.”
There is no opponent.
Today in class, Dawa has the moon in her. We learn from her stillness.
Ronald Taganashi—”If you understand stillness, you understand movement.”
When pulling up from the perineum, Sifu thinks of it as pulling up our groceries that are in a plastic grocery bag. Our organs are the groceries :D.
Training axiom, the punch goes where you see it.
May at least some of these notes be of benefit!
Best wishes!
Sifu D’Arcy
